Luke 19:10 The son of man came to seek and save those who are lost. NLT
Matthew 28:19 GO and make disciples. NIV
Acts 26:17-18 Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me. NLT
Luke 15: Parables of the lost sheep, lost coin, lost sons.
Luke 15:4 Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and GO AFTER the lost sheep until he finds it? NIV
Luke 15:8 Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and sweep the entire house and search carefully until she finds it? NIV
Luke 15:20 But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. NIV
Luke 15:28 The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. NIV
Our challenge: We lack confidence in sharing Jesus with others.
Luke 10:1-9
Luke 10:1-3 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. NIV
INTENTIONAL INFLUENCERS: Decide to engage.
Fuse intentionality into your existing rhythms and routines to build relationships and connections with those who don’t yet know Jesus.
INTENTIONAL INFLUENCERS: Pray for those who are far from God
Prayer is simply talking to God about our neighbors BEFORE we talk to our neighbors about God
Romans 10:1 My heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. ESV
Matthew 5:44 Pray for anyone who mistreats you. CEV
Luke 10:5 When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ NIV
Philippians 4:7 The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard (protect, watch over) your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. NIV
INTENTIONAL INFLUENCERS: Discover someone’s story
Luke 10:7 Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. NIV
INTENTIONAL INFLUENCERS: Discern what is next.
Discerning what is next often meets a need.
Luke 10:9 Heal the sick who are there. NIV
The problems of those who are far from God are just miracles waiting to happen.
INTENTIONAL INFLUENCERS: Deliver the Gospel.
Luke 10:9 Tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ NIV
1 Peter 3:15 If someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. NLT
Testimony: Before Jesus was your Lord and Savior.
Testimony: How you learned about Jesus.
Testimony: What happened (actual conversion).
Testimony: Your life since becoming a Jesus follower.
Invest time to better communicate your story.
INTENTIONAL INFLUENCERS: Invite someone into a relationship with Jesus.
“How to be an everyday missionary.” SLIDE.
Colossians 4:5-6 Make the most of your chances to tell others the Good News. Be wise in all your contacts with them. Let your conversation be gracious as well as sensible, for then you will have the right answer for everyone. TLB
