DEFINITION
Betrayal: the exploitation of another person's virtues.
Key Point #1: Betrayal undervalues the virtue of others (cf. Luke 22:1-38).

Denial: (1) the action of declaring something to be untrue. (2) refusal to satisfy a request.
Key Point #2: Denial is a necessary part of the discipleship process (cf. Luke 22:39-62).

Rejection: the act of refusing to accept, use, or believe someone or something.
Key Point #3: Rejection of Christ and His gospel has eternal consequences (cf. Luke 22:63-71).

One Last Thought: When we deny truth and pursue our own personal interests, justice crumbles. When we deny ourselves and pursue truth, justice prevails (cf. Luke 22).
