Talk It Over:
Let’s talk about commitment.
As a child what are some things to which you were committed?
As a teen? College student? Young adult? Parent? Grandparent?
What does the word commitment mean? Look it up. What are some synonyms? Is it a good word? Why or Why Not?
Jesus was committed to God’s Will. What did that mean to Jesus? How does Jesus' commitment to God’s Will/Ways/Desire benefit us today?
As followers of Christ, we believe God is loving, good, wise, powerful, faithful, providing, caring, compassionate, etc. If this is the case and we commit our lives to Him who do we become? What will be our behavior?
One of Spring Hill's Core Values is Committed. We are committed to following Jesus and are committed to helping others follow Jesus. Thoughts?
How can we as a group help one another commit our lives to God?
How can we encourage one another to guide our children to commit their lives to God?
Bonus:
Search the Hymn “I Surrender All”. Read it out loud. Discuss it a bit.
Use it as the group's closing prayer.
BIG Bonus:
Send two or three verses about trusting God/committing to God to the group this week.
