Shepherd Declaration to the Church
On this day, in the presence of God and among His people, I make the following declaration and covenant:

•As God is my witness, I recognize him as of first importance in my life. I believe that He has called and anointed me for this ministry of servant leadership, therefore, I will listen to Him and to Him alone.

•I will lead this body only as He directs and leads me. I will be open to the Spirit’s leading. I will be faithful to God’s Holy Word. I will be an example of Jesus to this Body and to the world having received this anointing as God’s Shepherd in this flock.

•I will minister, I will feed, I will protect, I will search for those who wander, and I declare my willingness to place the needs of this flock above my own, so help me God.

To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow hasn’t come yet. We only have today. Today to put the interests of others at the center of our decisions. Today to follow the Father with no uncertainty. Today to be last in all things for the sake of God’s Kingdom, and today to lead out in the truth that there is no force in the world better able to alter anything from its course than Dynamic Compassion and the Transforming Truth of God’s Holy Word. On this we stand and live and on this may our Shepherds unswervingly lead us as Community Church of Hendersonville. -Amen
