Ways To Give

God is generous and so he calls us to be as well. What we do with what God has given us shows the world where our hearts are at and helps proclaim the gospel. We want to glorify God with every area of our lives, and that includes what we do with our finances.
If you would like to give, please see the different ways below. You can also designate your gift as going to the general church fund, building fund, HUB Radio Network, missions or for use as benevolence.

Give In Person
On Sunday Morning we do have an offering box set up for those who would like to give in person!

Mail A Check
RockPile Church
P.O. RockPile Church Building

Although we recognize that the church is more than a building, we are so excited that God has given us almost 6 acres (at the corner of 1431/Mustang) to build our church building so we can reach even more people for Christ. You can follow the link below to stay up-to-date on current needs, fundraising progress and check-out the building floor plan.

http://rockpilechurch.com/building-project

Words Series - Week 3
Propitiation

1 John 2:1-2

1 John 1:9-10

1. The Nature of Propitiation
Propitiation is a Greek word, hilasmos, and it means "an appeasement."
A verb, hilaskomai means "to make satisfaction for someone."

Luke 18:13

Hebrews 2:17

Hilasterion - means "a sacrifice of atonement"

Romans 3:25

You can read all about the Ark of the covenant in Exodus 25.

- The lid on the top of the ark, or the top of the box, became known as the mercy seat, as the hilasterion, the place where appeasement took place.
- Shekinah literally means the actual, tangible presence of God.
- The ark contains the law and the law is daily broken by every human being.
- Above the box, where the broken law resides, is the glorious, majestic, holy presence of God.
- In between the broken law of God and the presence of the Holy God is the mercy seat. The place of appeasement.

Exodus 25:22

The animal sacrifice did not actually propitiate God, but it symbolized and represented a sacrifice that would satisfy once and for all.
2. The Necessity of Propitiation

1 John 2:2

Propitiation is necessary because of sin.
It is important to remember that every sin ever committed will be punished. The big question is How?
Propitiation
Punishment and pardon have to come together. Justice and grace have to come together. Guilt and forgiveness have to come together. They come together in the sacrifice that propitiates God, that satisfies God.

John 3:36

Romans 3:23

Romans 1:18

1 Thessalonians 1:10

Psalm 7:11

Ezekiel 18:4

3. The Agent of Propitiation

1 John 2:1-2

1 Thessalonians 1:10

Isaiah 53:5-10

Isaiah is telling us that God determined what sacrifice would propitiate Him.
The death of Christ was the satisfaction of divine justice.

Ephesians 5:2

2 Corinthians 5:21

Hebrews 7:26

Hebrews 9:1-15

Even the people who lived under the first covenant weren't saved by the blood sacrifices. It is that glorious sacrifice of Christ that satisfies God.

Hebrews 10:4-17

1 John 1:7

Romans 3:23-26

4. The Motive of Propitiation

1 John 4:10

It was not the propitiation of a loving Christ that won the love of God - just the opposite. It was the love of God that sent Christ to be the propitiation.

God's motive is love.
5. The Extent of Propitiation

1 John 2:2

Galatians 2:9

Leviticus 16:17

John 11:50-52

Isaiah 46:8
