This Week's Bulletin

Find out what's happening in the next couple of weeks!

Recap from two weeks ago...

We need to be:
1) Giving in spite of our circumstances.
2) Giving enthusiastically, not legalistically.
3) Giving sacrificially, instead of simply using a percentage.
4) Giving as an act of worship.
Why Give? Because it provokes others to give, as well.

We as Christians have the ability to motivate others, both in our words, as well as by our example, to live for and serve God better in their lives. Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” And then in the N.T. book of Hebrews, chapter 10, the writer commands us to not neglect meeting together, because when we do, we cannot consider one another and how to be stirred up to love and good works.
Why else? Because grace giving brings spiritual blessings.

-> Sowing and Reaping
-> Be sure to keep a good attitude
Why else? Because grace giving meets real needs.

God does not instruct us to participate in grace giving because he needs us to meet the needs I just mentioned. However, since we are Christians who benefit from the work of God in church ministry, God instructs us to graciously and gratefully give back to his work, where He can and does choose to use our grace giving to meet these needs.
Why else? Because grace giving brings glory to God.

The Jewish believers would glorify God for the meeting of their needs. Also they would glorify God for the unifying work of Christ on the cross, making the truth of Galatians 3 a reality: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
