3. Commitment


(1 Peter 4:8) Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. (NIV)


(Colossians 3:14) Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. (NLT)

CHOOSING A GREAT MARRIAGE

1. I choose to act, not react.

(1 Corinthians 13:4) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or rude. (NLT)

2. I choose to give you what you need, instead of what you deserve.

(1 Corinthians 13:5) “It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.” (NLT)


(Ephesians 4:2) Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.


(Ephesians 5:25) For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her. (NLT)


(Ephesians 5:33) So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. (NLT)


(Proverbs 21:19) It’s better to live alone in the desertthan with a quarrelsome, complaining wife. (NLT)


(John 15:13) Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. (NIV)

3. I choose to talk it out, not walk out.

(1 Corinthians 13:7) Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. (NLT)
