Psalm 103:1-13
https://my.bible.com/bible/111/PSA.103.1-13.NIVOur Souls (vv. 1-2)
What is our soul?
We need to redirect our soul’s affections… Bend our soul toward God
“It comes the very moment you wake up each morning. All your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists simply in shoving them all back; in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in. And so on, all day. Standing back from all your natural fussings and frettings; coming in out of the wind.”- C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
Who is God our Father? (vv. 3-13)
The Old Testament Vision Statement of Who God our Father is (vv. 7-8)
Bend your overwhelmed soul toward God your Father
Bend your poor and needy soul toward God your Father
Bend your excited and grateful soul toward God your Father
Bend your regretful soul toward God your Father
Bend your repentant soul toward God your Father
Bend your resistant soul toward God your Father
How do I bend the affections of my soul toward God?
• Thank and praise God
• "God I bend my soul and all within me toward You."
