North Platte Berean Church
Be Like Jesus
Christianity has a long history of being misunderstood, even by Christians! It's all too easy to make it about Jesus PLUS something (good works, moral living, religious activities, emotional experience…). But the book of Hebrews claims that when we add anything to Jesus, we're actually subtracting. It holds up Jesus Christ – fully God, fully human – as the promised Deliverer. He is the One who, alone, saves us from our sinfulness and restores our relationships with God, others, and creation. Its message, the message of Christianity, is really quite simple: Jesus Christ is enough!

Baptism – Today, 11 a.m. gathering, Auditorium
Baptism is a public witness of an internal reality – that the person has passed from death to life by trusting in Jesus alone for salvation. Today, we will baptize Carol Nunez (by John Stone).
If you have more questions about baptism or have never been baptized but would like to consider it, write BAPTISM on a ConnectCard and drop it in a wooden box on your way out today!

What was one thing from this week’s sermon that impacted/challenged me?
• Treasuring God: What is God showing me about himself?
• Being Transformed: How is God challenging me to grow? What is my next step in this?
• Loving Others: Who do I have opportunity to live out these truths with this week?
• Pursuing Unity: How can we take a step in this area, to unite us more closely together?

Next Week's Sermon
We'll finish our time in Hebrews with the writer's final commands (these are for us too), his final prayer (what a prayer to pray for ourselves and others!), and final greetings (what does it mean to truly "greet" someone well?). This letter was originally written to the first century audience, but we'll note implications for us and return once again to the Gospel as we remind ourselves that Jesus Christ is enough!
