Manteno Baseball/Softball Equipment Exchange
It is our 2nd year of partnering with the Manteno Youth Baseball/Softball Association with the goal of helping local kids access the equipment they need to play. As such, we are looking for equipment. Between now and February 27, containers will be available outside the church and at the Manteno Public Library to drop off used bats, gloves, shoes, helmets, bags, and pants. We will collect and clean the equipment. On Saturday, March 4, from 9am-12pm, we will have a free exchange at the church for the community. So, start cleaning out your garage and let your old equipment bless a new player!

GriefShare Journey Group
Thursdays | 6:30-8:30pm | GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group to help and encourage those who have lost a spouse, child, family, or friend through death. It is designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. The group will be led by caring people who have experienced grief and understand the pain and what it takes to move forward. Pat Bialecke and Diane Ruch are leading this group on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm and ending May 11. Contact Pat Bialacke at 815.353.5804 for more information or to register.

Faith Promise
February 18 & 19 | Stephen Sickel will be joining us to talk about his time in missions and the impact of Faith Promise. Faith Promise gifts are gifts given systematically for global missions throughout the year. They are a promise between the individual and God. Giving through Faith Promise is an adventure and an opportunity to allow God to show how He provides when we open our hearts in generosity. Saturday night, 6pm, we are having a soup dinner and listening to Stephen speak about his and God's work. No dish required and no signup, just come. Digital Faith Promise Cards are available at https://forms.gle/wtuk1PVy2AzgErZD9

Ash Wednesday
Wednesday, February 22 | 6:30pm | Join us for a special service that marks the beginning of the season of Lent, a season that is a time of penitence, discipline, and renewal. Children and youth are invited to join the service. PreK programming and nursery will be provided in the children's center. Supper will be provided beforehand from 5:30-6:15pm as usual.

Middle School RIOT
Friday, February 24 | 7-10pm | 5th-8th Graders, join us for a night of fun, friends, 9-Square, and pizza. Properly chaperoned of course. The theme for the night is "Jersey Night". I'm pretty sure it is sports jerseys and not Jersey Shore, Jersey Mikes, or Jersey Cows, but be sure to check with Pastor Marcus. Anyway, ladies bring snacks and guys are responsible for drinks.

Run & Fun Community Playgroup
Friday, February 24 | 9:30-11am | Mamas and preschoolers, come to a community playdate in the gym. Bring your preschool friends, ride the cars, crawl through the tunnels, shoot the short baskets, and let your mamas enjoy bagels and coffee.

Non-Traditional Giving Class
Saturday, February 25 | 10am | Most families give to our church via cash, check, or online giving but did you know some families gain added tax benefits by giving corn, beans, stock, or via donor-advised funds, IRA charitable rollovers, etc. Not all charitable gifts are created equal. Some provide more tax benefits than others. You are invited to join Dan Ferris as he shares how you can maximize the benefits of your charitable giving and reviews basic estate planning. Dan welcomes your participation or questions if you would like to call 815.370.3319. Please signup at the welcome center or on a connect card.

Stephen Sickel Bio

Stephen and Anne Sickel have served with Global Missions in the Church of the Nazarene since 2009. They started the adventure on the Mesoamerica Region as Work and Witness coordinators, living first in Costa Rica and then Mexico. They returned to the USA in 2019 to join the Global Missions team at the Global Ministry Center. Now Stephen is the global Work and Witness and Partnerships coordinator while Anne serves in Global Missions Administration.

The Sickels have seen firsthand how God uses his beautiful Church to serve a hurting world. It has been their joy and privilege to be a small part in mobilizing Nazarenes from many cultures and backgrounds to
serve their God shoulder to shoulder.

The Sickel crew includes three ornery kids: Micah (10), Elizabeth (7), and Levi (7). They spend a lot of their time together fishing, making s’mores, and discussing their latest unanswerable questions about dragons.
