Footpath - people who hear the word but don’t understand.

Shallow/rocky soil - Shallow roots, not rooted, a person who responds with great joy but nothing about their heart changes so when trouble arises their faith disappears.

Thorns/weeds - People who understand and even receive the message of Jesus, but the message is crowded out by the worries of life and the lure of wealth.

The good news of Jesus doesn’t change. The condition of our hearts does.

Fertile soil - truly hear and understand, we will know that they have done so because their life will produce a harvest - they will bear fruit!

Kar-pof-or-eh'-o - to bear fruit, to bring forth, to be fertile

“How will you know you’re rooting? If you’re fruiting.”

The quality of the soil is revealed in the harvest. How do you need God to tend to the soil of your heart?

1. Read John 15:1-17, Matthew 13:1-23 everyday.
2. In light of the passage ask, "what soil am I today?"
