North Platte Berean Church
Run Well
Christianity has a long history of being misunderstood, even by Christians! It's all too easy to make it about Jesus PLUS something (good works, moral living, religious activities, emotional experience…). But the book of Hebrews claims that when we add anything to Jesus, we're actually subtracting. It holds up Jesus Christ – fully God, fully human – as the promised Deliverer. He is the One who, alone, saves us from our sinfulness and restores our relationships with God, others, and creation. Its message, the message of Christianity, is really quite simple: Jesus Christ is enough!

What was one thing from this week’s sermon that impacted/challenged me?
• Treasuring God: How does this passage lead me to see God more clearly and value Him more deeply?
• Being Transformed: What do I need the Lord to change within me, as I seek to apply these Truths?
• Loving Others: Who do I have opportunity to live this out with this week?
• Pursuing Unity: How can we take a step in this area to knit us more closely together?

Next Week's Sermon
This week's passage has several challenges for our ears today. We'll be talking about God's discipline as from a Father who loves his daughters and sons. Yet many of us have never experienced loving, forward-thinking discipline from a beloved father or we've also received painful, demeaning punishment at times. How we view God as Father will make a tremendous difference in how (even whether) we accept his discipline as love.
