North Platte Berean Church
Faith Facts
Christianity has a long history of being misunderstood, even by Christians! It's all too easy to make it about Jesus PLUS something (good works, moral living, religious activities, emotional experience…). But the book of Hebrews claims that when we add anything to Jesus, we're actually subtracting. It holds up Jesus Christ – fully God, fully human – as the promised Deliverer. He is the One who, alone, saves us from our sinfulness and restores our relationships with God, others, and creation. Its message, the message of Christianity, is really quite simple: Jesus Christ is enough!

What was one thing from this week’s sermon that impacted/challenged me?
• Treasuring God: How does what I believe about God connect to how I live out my faith? How is this reality present in my personal life today?
• Being Transformed: What do I need the Lord to begin to change within me so that I can develop the kind of faith we read about in this passage?
• Loving Others: Is there a person or situation that I need to move towards currently, in faith, even if it might look/feel weird? (Because you said so I will…)
• Pursuing Unity: What is one step we can take to help one another grow in faith this week?

Next Week's Sermon
For our runners and non-runners alike, the author of Hebrews utilizes the metaphor of a relay race in three brief but power-packed verses to challenge and inspire his readers. What does it look like to run well? What do we need to do before, during and after the race?
