North Platte Berean Church
Pure & Faultless Religion
Over the past several years our church has, on multiple levels, invested heavily in a summer camp outreach to foster children - Royal Family Kids Camp. We're thrilled to let you know that since last summer, Berean has now become the sponsoring church for Royal Family Kids Camp! We have the amazing privilege of loving and engaging foster children in Lincoln County and we want you to know God's heart in this as well as hear about ways you might consider being involved this summer!

Talk It Over
Visit npberean.org/grow-groups to find a group, start a group, or get more resources.
What was one thing from this week’s sermon that impacted/challenged me?
• Treasuring God: How we are engaging the helpless says a lot about our “religion” or what we truly believe about God. Why?
• Being Transformed: What are some things that keep me from doing what this passage talks about? How can I allow Jesus to begin to change that?
• Loving Others: What is one step that I can take to play a part in caring for the “orphans” that were shared about today?
• Pursuing Unity: How can we pursue this area more intentionally together? Is there an “orphan or widow” that we can care for as a group?
RightNow Resource: Check out the video of James 1:19-27 in Francis Chan’s James Study. (If you aren’t set up on RightNow media, text NPBEREAN to 49775 to set up a free account.)

Next Week's Sermon
Christianity has a long history of being misunderstood, even by Christians! It's all too easy to make it about Jesus PLUS something (good works, moral living, religious activities, emotional experience…). But the book of Hebrews claims that when we add anything to Jesus, we're actually subtracting. It holds up Jesus Christ – fully God, fully human – as the promised Deliverer. He is the One who, alone, saves us from our sinfulness and restores our relationships with God, others, and creation. Its message, the message of Christianity, is really quite simple: Jesus Christ is enough!
