North Platte Berean Church
God, Have Mercy!
How amazing – the all-powerful Creator of the entire cosmos deeply desires…relationship with us! The Psalmist rightly penned, “What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” (Ps. 8:4). When we see God’s greatness, our limitation, and His deep love for us, what else can we do but cry out to Him from the deepest part of ourselves for His help? As we kick off 2023, we want to reject the idea that we’re sufficient in ourselves and turn to God in humility, dependence, and gratitude.

Talk It Over
Note:Grow Groups resume the week of 1/15, so now is a great time to find a group or start one! Visit npberean.org/grow-groups to find out more/get more resources.
During the holidays, we’re encouraging Grow Groups to take a break from meeting regularly. Throughout this time, consider using the “Swedish Method” as a helpful way to further engage the key passage from the sermon:
💡 What did you notice from the passage? What stood out to you while reading or listening to it?
? What questions do you have from the passage? Was there anything you did not understand? Was there something you would like to ask the writer or the Lord from the passage?
➞ Where can we take what was said and apply it to our life?

Next Week's Sermon
We've explored two Heart Cries for NPBC in 2023: "Lord, Move!" and "God, Have Mercy!" Next week we'll conclude our series with a final prayer that is simple and powerful. How should we respond when we are stuck, bound up, confused, fearful? We'll renew our hearts and minds as we see how we can respond with a heart cry to God in those moments.
