Our series begins at the front of our Bible in the book of Genesis. The word "Genesis" carries the idea of "coming into being" or "start of something."
The name can be seen in Genesis 1:1.
The name can be seen in Genesis 1:1.
It's been said that Genesis tells us the beginning of everything except God - much in the same way that a book tells a story and conveys some knowledge, but doesn't focus on the birth and life of the author.
Genesis is often referred to as the seed-plot of the Bible as virtually every subject of major importance has its origin there.
Genesis was penned by Moses, under God's leading, sometime around 1450 B.C. It is made up of 50 chapters and some 1,533 verses depending on your version of the Bible.
The Grace 2023 Bible Reading Plan will cover the book of Genesis over the 3 month period of this series.

Lessons from Genesis:
God created us to have a relationship with Him and has a purpose for our lives. In spite of the efforts of Satan, the corruption of sin, and the direction of our own self-will, that relationship and purpose can be realized if we will follow Him in obedient faith.

Genesis is followed by the book of Exodus, which was also written by Moses in about the same time span.
Exodus, which means "exit" or "departure", follows the family of Jacob (or Israel). It shows the faithfulness of God by Him keeping His promises, providing provision and protection, and in establishing order for the way His people should live and worship.

Sixth: The PURPOSE of the Law (Exodus 19-24)
Seventh: The POINT of the Tabernacle (Exodus 25-40)
Lessons from Exodus:
God delivered us from our slavery to sin so that we can experience the Promised Land; a new relationship with Him both here on earth and in heaven.
In order to realize the full benefits of this relationship, we are to submit to His will, and serve in His name. To do otherwise sets us up for wandering in the wilderness of this world!
