Waiting leads to disappointment

God is working while we are waiting

The seed of a woman will crush the serpent's head (Genesis 3:15)

Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and we will call him Immanuel. NIV

Christmas message: Just because God is silent does not mean God is absent

While we are waiting, God is working

Galatians 4:4
But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. NIV

Set time: Fully pregnant (Perfect time)

Matthew 1:20
An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” NIV

While God's people waited for a Savior, God was working

Delays are not necessarily denials

We don’t have to understand the plan to trust that God has a purpose

When disappointed in God’s timing; trust that God is working

God is ready, but we may not be ready

God will do something IN you before he does something FOR you

Isaiah 64:4
Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him. NIV
