Throughout this sermon series we are looking at characters that are typically overlooked in the Christmas story, and what their stories can teach us. This week, we’re looking at something a little different. We’re going to take a look at John chapter 3 and look at Christmas from God the Father’s point of view. By doing this, we learn:

1. God knew He would have to send His Son
John 1:1-5, 3:16-17, Rom. 5:8, 1 John 4:9-10

2. It’s only through Jesus that we can be saved
John 14:6, Acts 4:12, 1 Tim. 2:5, John 3:36

3. It’s our choice to accept or reject God
John 1:11-13, Josh. 24:15, 2 Pet. 3:9
Reflection Questions

1. Have you ever thought about the birth of Jesus through God the Father’s perspective before? Is there anything that surprised you as we discussed it?

2. Take some time to reflect Christmas. Is there anything that God is teaching you this Christmas season?

3. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:13. Take some time this Christmas season to reflect on what you can thank God for.

4. What is your biggest take away from this sermon series? What did God teach you? Do you feel led to put anything into action? If so, what, and what practical step(s) do you need to take to be obedient to what God has led you to do? Who can keep you accountable to accomplishing this?
