Our December series deals with the idea of HOPE. This series title states that HOPE is a four letter word...an extremely positive one.
Biblical hope is rooted in the character and promises of God, not our feelings, thoughts, opinions of others, or the likelihood of our circumstances.
Because of who God is, our hope is not cloaked in uncertainty, but guaranteed!

For millions of people, Christmas is a happy time of family, food, fellowship, fun, fruitcake, and familiar traditions - religious and cultural. For others, it's a secular day or extended period of time off from work and school.
For a small group, it's a time of paganistic intolerance.
Most of us are very aware of the hatred of some for anything religious during the Christmas season. They ban and attack manger and nativity scenes, they use political and legal enforcers to promote their bias and prejudice, they demand that people say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas," and they re-write, cancel, and disregard history.

For those who are Christian, who have a personal relationship with God, Christmas is a time of celebration and thanksgiving for the greatest gift ever given. John 3:16
For us, the Christmas season is about HOPE. We have hope because God offered up His Son on our behalf.

The Christmas season stirs people in a wide variety of ways.
For some it can be an intense reminder of deceased loved ones, the absence of any close family or friends to celebrate with, or maybe the reality that their lives are in upheaval because of some hardship.
Instead of feeling hope and joy, many people feel overwhelmed.

During the Christmas season, it's important for us to remember why God offered His Son up. He did so in order to provide a daily and eternal HOPE in our life.

This HOPE can be seen and experienced in our lives in a number of ways. There is HOPE because:
1. God loves, knows, and cares for us.
2. God is trustworthy and keeps His promises.
3. God gave us a role model as to how we are to live.
4. God provided a sacrifice for our sin.
5. God made a way for us to be reconciled to Him.
6. God has a plan for our life.
7. God will gather us to heaven for eternity.

There are several men and women at Grace Church who have completed the mentoring program here at Grace and are looking to invest in and share what they've learned with someone else. If you are interested in starting the new year by re-inventing your life as Pastor Don has been talking about, you may want to think about being mentored.
Contact the church office with any questions or to get the process started (grace@gc3.org) or you can talk with any of the staff and elders. We would love to help you BE the person God created and saved you to BE!

Bible Reading Plan
We hope you've enjoyed your reading and studying of the Gospels and Acts this year. The staff and leadership look forward to hearing about how you've grown and what you have learned through these studies.
As we look towards the New Year, we wanted to share our church-wide plan for 2023. The plan will follow along with our various sermon series over this next year so that you can dig deeper into what you are learning on Sundays.
Visit the website (www.gc3.org/bible) or find paper copies in CJ's.
Let us know if you have any questions!

Christmas Cards
If you would like to exchange Christmas cards with your church family, you can do that on the tables in the auditorium.
Each table has a letter posted on it. Drop your cards in the basket on the table of the person/family's last name. For example, if you have a Christmas card for Pastor Don and Evie Roscoe, you can place it in the basket on the table labeled "R".
In the upcoming weeks, don't forget to look for any cards that might belong to you as well.
