NATURE: WISDOM’S CLASSROOM
Psalm 19.1-4

James 1.5 (ESV) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

Proverbs 3.19-22 (ESV) The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens; by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew. My son, do not lose sight of these—keep sound wisdom and discretion, and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck.

Proverbs 6.6 (ESV) Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.

Job 12.7-8 (ESV) But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you.

Psalm 19.1-4 (ESV) The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.

Isaiah 6.3 (ESV) Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!

According to Scripture, the natural world is a great teacher of wisdom.

The heavens help us appreciate the bigness of God, and the smallness of us.

Isaiah 40.26 (NLT) Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.

Psalm 8.3-4 (ESV) When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?

Wisdom atrophies and withers when I see myself as my own truth producer instead of a truth pursuer.
