Introduction
Peace:

The greatest advice you can get comes from God.

To shine on those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death,
To guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Luke 1:79, (Said by Zacharias of John the Baptist)
The greatest insight from being in the presence of God.

“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among people with whom He is pleased.”

Luke 2:14, (Said by a multitude of angels to the Shepherds)
The greatest use of your life is to glorify God.

“Now, Lord, You are letting Your bond-servant depart in peace,
According to Your word;

Luke 2:29, (Said by Simeon at the Temple)
So What?!
When you put your faith in Jesus Christ you gain:
#1. Peace with God.
#2. Peace of God.
#3. Peace for God.

Prayer Requests:
Group Discussion:
Read out loud: If you have time read Luke 1 & 2 aloud.
Peace: to be complete and whole in contentment. In the middle of the mess you can be content in Christ.

If the greatest advice you can get comes from God how are you influencing others for peace this Christmas? To shine on those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death,
To guide our feet into the way of peace.” Luke 1:79, (Said by Zacharias of John the Baptist). Do you think of John the Baptist as a peaceful character or one who is contentious and confrontive?

If the greatest insight comes from being in the presence of God how is your devotional life this Christmas? The angels said, “Glory to God in the highest,And on earth peace among people with whom He is pleased.” Luke 2:14, (Said by a multitude of angels to the Shepherds). God is pleased with those who are in right relationship with Him therefore who are you inviting to the GateWay Christmas Eve services so they’re introduced to Christ.

If the greatest use of your life is to glorify God how is your God given goodness being used this Christmas? “Now, Lord, You are letting Your bond-servant depart in peace, According to Your word,” Luke 2:29, (Said by Simeon at the Temple)

When you put your faith in Jesus Christ you gain:

#1. Peace with God. Christ entered the world with the mission of paying for our sins on the cross. Other than the gift of eternal life, what is the greatest gift you’ve received?

#2. Peace of God. What are you facing this Christmas that is bringing stress to your mind? Take some time to pray for each other as you attempt to have peace in the middle of the mess.

#3. Peace for God. Zacharias knew that his son’s life would be dedicated to God and would involve hardship. He saw that as a privilege for him to serve God. Have you faced any hardship caused by living for Christ and again take a little time to pray for each other.

Family Time: Peace is feeling content even in the middle of the mess. Talk with your kids individually about what is causing stress in their lives. Pray specifically that they could have a sense of peace that God is using this stress to help them learn to depend on Him even in the middle of their mess.
