How many of you would say honestly that there's at least one area of your life that you love to control.
Luke 1:29 (NLT) Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel
could mean.

Mary was confused and disturbed.
Mary didn’t say, this is not convenient for me.
Key thought: You don't always have the power to control,
but you do always have the power to surrender.

To live a life letting go of control it takes faith, but to have faith you have to let go of control.

You don't always have the power to control, but you do always have the power to surrender.

Make a choice between your dreams and God's destiny.
Make a decision between your plans and what appears to be God's purpose.
Make a choice between your control and God's calling.

What is our desire to control rooted in?
Our desire to control is rooted in a lack of faith.

The more I overestimate my ability to control, the more I underestimate the power and goodness of God.

Surrendering control is not just a one-time decision. It's a daily choice.

We don’t see Mary having the power to control, but we see her having the power to surrender then we see God’s faithfulness show up in here life.

What is it that you're trying to control that God wants you to surrender?

Choose to surrender whatever it is you need to surrender today.
Why?
Because God can do way more through your surrender than you could ever do through your control.
Are you accumulating on Earth what you cannot keep? Or are you investing in Heaven what you cannot lose?

Questions to ask yourself this week:

Do you feel like you have way too much stuff, a little too much, about right, not enough, or not nearly enough?

Read 1 Timothy 6:18-19. Which part of this command are you doing well at? Which part do you want to grow in?

Write down a few things you won't buy, a few things you’ll get rid of, and a few ways you’ll give. Then, do it!
