And that’s a bit of an issue for us… when our Joy is tied to our circumstances….then they are inherently contingent on the outcome of those circumstances…which is not the Joy that God brings.

And what we have done is converted Biblical joy to worldly joy and hold God to an expectation that He hasn’t promised to meet.

Have you confused Joy with Happiness and Comfort?

Paul’s Joy wasn’t conditional to his circumstance.

His definition of Joy is greater than ours will ever be

If God’s joy was based on worldly things, then man could take them away

Can I trust God to work out every problem if I fully submit to His will?

Whatever my circumstance, God is not finished
