We are integrating a new communication system so we all can stay connected in simple ways. For most of us this simply means that there will a different portal we use for registrations, giving, and groups. Right now, the first step is to download the Church Center App on your phone or click on the “My Portal” link at the top right hand of any page on our website. From there you can create or confirm your profile. Questions??? Please contact Celena Hosford our Business Manager or the Church Office.
The stresses of the holiday season and life in general can sap our peace. There are stresses that circumstances foist upon us and there are stresses that we bring on ourselves through our own decisions. When the disciples are caught in a storm, life has foisted stress on them but their reaction only exacerbates their stress. Jesus steps into all the stress with His peace.
The storm that the disciples experienced was an actual storm on the Sea of Galilee, but what if we looked at it as a metaphor for storms in our life? With that in mind, what is your storm today? Don't you want Jesus to bring peace to that storm?
Verse 28 implies that the disciples assumed that since Jesus was asleep and the storm was raging that He didn't care for them. What did Jesus say was the real problem in verse 40?

Sometimes He Calms the Storm

Sometimes Jesus brings peace from the storm and other times He brings peace in the storm, as we trust Him through the storm. This song by Scott Krippayne captures this truth pretty well.

Mark 4: 35-41 is not a Christmas story text but it is linked to the Christmas text in Luke 2: 8-14 by the promise of peace to those on whom God's favor rests. That's US since we are who Jesus came to save.
So, "where do you need a little peace right now?" Whatever it is, God is inviting you to trust Him, as He walks with you through it and brings you peace.
