North Platte Berean Church
Two Advents
As we approach Christmas, we enter a season called Advent ("Coming"). It's a time to celebrate God coming in human flesh (Jesus) and the miraculous saving intervention that brought! Yet, of course, before "coming" is "waiting"…God's people long ago waited for Christ's first coming; now we wait for His return. What can their waiting teach us about ours? This Advent, we'll look back with gratitude and look ahead with anticipation, worshiping the Lord for what He has done and will do.

Talk It Over
Visit npberean.org/grow-groups to find a group, start a group, or get more resources.
• What was one thing from this week’s sermon that impacted/challenged me?
• Treasuring God: How does this passage and a right understanding of the two Advents change my perspective of God’s character and plan?
• Being Transformed: What area of my life do I long to see be fully restored? How am I allowing Jesus to begin restoring that now?
• Loving Others: In what ways can the second Advent influence how I interact with others (esp. those who aren’t following Jesus)?
• Pursuing Unity: Does the way that we interact as a group point to the complete restoration that is to come? What are some tangible ways we can grow in this area together?

Next Week's Sermon
So as we wait for the judgment and restoration of the second coming in this broken and sin-filled world, what does it look like to be "Waiting Well?" What does it look like to be ready for Jesus' second advent? How can we adopt a ready mindset even in the midst of the hardship and struggle of this world?
