Understanding the back story of Christmas makes the Christmas story believable

The Christmas story begins with God making a promise found in the Book of Genesis

God made an extraordinary promise to Abram (Abraham)

Genesis 12:2
"I will make you into a great nation." NIV

Genesis 12:2
“And I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing." NIV

Genesis 12:3
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; NIV

Genesis 12:3
“and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” NIV

Abraham chose to believe the unbelievable

Through King Solomon, Israel positioned itself to bless the world

When the set time had fully come....... NIV

Luke 1:26
God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. NIV

Luke 1:28
The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored, the Lord is with you." NIV

Luke 1:30
“Mary, you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus." NIV

The Jewish people did in fact became a light to the Gentiles

The Jewish God is worshipped throughout the world

The Christmas story began 2100 years before the Christmas story continues to unfold to this day
