The Faith of a Power Couple | Matthew 1:18-21

A. Joseph's Character Was...

Matthew 1:18-19

1. Willing to disobey the law

2. Willing to love Mary despite being hurt

3. Willing to sacrifice self (humble)

B. Joseph's Revelation Meant...

Matthew 1:20-21

1. Assurance
“Joseph son of David, do not be afraid…”

2. Guidance
“…what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit…”

3. An Explanation
“She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

1. Listened

Luke 1:38

They allowed God’s voice to be loudest.

2. Obeyed

Matthew 1:24

They took risks, but risks taken in line with God’s instructions came with the promise of His strength and favor.

3. Trusted

Luke 2:6-7

They trusted that God’s favor might look like a donkey and a manger instead of a white stallion and chariot.
