Mary’s life became a mix of PROMISE and PAIN:
Luke 2:35b
..."And a sword will pierce your own soul too."
[unknown]
“The human tendency is to emphasize either brokenness or faith. The faith-speaking people talk about ‘taking our cities for God,’ and ‘doing great exploits.” They’re ready to take on the ‘principalities and powers’ of darkness. They’re bold; they’re strong; they’re undefeatable; they’re more than conquerors.
“Then you’ve got your brokenness people. Every time you ask them how they’re doing, they say things like, ‘God is sifting His church. There’s a breaking going on right now. He’s shaking everything that can be shaken. God is really cleaning house.’
“...There’s tremendous truth on both sides, but the Lord doesn’t want us to end up on either side. He wants us to embrace both and find the balance of ‘a broken faith.’”
Mary’s pain was very real . . .
Mary’s pain was real, but PROMISE prevailed . . .

* The promise of a Savior
Luke 1:31-32a
You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.
Mary’s pain was real, but PROMISE prevailed . . .

* The promise of a Savior

* The promise of the Spirit
“May your word to me be fulfilled.” (Luke 1:38b)

* Have you submitted yourself completely to Christ?

* Are you determined to live a life full of the Holy Spirit?

* Could “broken faith” become your offering back to God?
…“May your word to me be fulfilled.” (Luke 1:38b)
