The antichrist and false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur (Revelation 19:20)

Revelation 20:1
And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time. NIV

God permitted the devil to enter the Garden of Eden so humanity could exercise free choice (will)

The devil will try to deceive by creating an environment that stimulates our sin nature

Revelation 20:9
They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of
God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. NIV

Revelation 20:10
And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning
sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. NIV

Hell is not non-existence but a real place where torment happens day and night forever and ever

Millennium: 1000

Premillennial viewpoint: Jesus will return to the earth before or “pre” the millennium in order to set up his literal 1000 year reign on earth

Postmillennial viewpoint: Jesus will return to the earth after the millennial kingdom (which the church ushers in)

Amillennial viewpoint: “No millennium” which means Jesus does not reign a 1000 years on earth

Why premillennial viewpoint: The millennium is needed to redeem creation from the curse and from the judgment

Why premillennial viewpoint: The millennium is the answer to the prayers, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Why premillennial viewpoint: The millennium is needed to fulfill all of God’s promises to Israel

Why premillennial viewpoint: The millennium reveals the depth of humanities sin nature thereby highlighting the necessity of Jesus’ death

Revelation 20:4
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to
judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. NIV

The millennium will conclusively demonstrate that people reject Jesus because of our depraved sin nature

Revelation 20:11
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth
and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. NIV

2 Thessalonians 1:9
They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the
presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might. NIV

The lake of fire was not created for us but for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41)

God gave us free choice and we choose our final destination

Revelation 21-22 describes life after the millennial reign of Christ

Revelation 21:5
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” NIV

There is no sea (Revelation 21:1)

Revelation 21: John tells us what Heaven is NOT like

When the Apostle Paul saw the glories of heaven, it was too astounding to talk about or describe (2 Corinthians 12:4)

Revelation 21:9
One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last
plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 11 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. 11 It shone with the glory of God. NIV

Revelation 22: God’s way of bringing His Word (The Bible) full circle (Back to Genesis) The message of Revelation 22: What Adam lost in the garden, Jesus regained

2 Peter 3:10 The day of the Lord's return will surprise us like a thief. The heavens will
disappear with a loud noise, and the heat will melt the whole universe. Then the earth and
everything on it will be seen for what they are. 11 Everything will be destroyed. So you
should serve and honor God by the way you live. CEV
