We would do well to help our unbelief!

Not the God of the big bang, not the “unmoved mover”, not the “ground of being”, but God—this very personal God of the Bible who supposedly knows me and who knows my every thought?”

Dear God!

How can You walk serenely

through the starry meadows of eternity,

Swinging Your moonlit lantern,

Calling the long night watches:

“All’s well! All’s well!

when my heart’s only heaven

is black with grief….

My life’s great lamp is broken and dark,

And I falter…unmothered.

“If you see a bible that is falling apart, it probably belongs to someone who isn’t”

“…chattering, busy, sporting, toiling, amused from day to day by headlines and night to night by cinemas, slipping, sinking, rolling backward to the age when the earth was void and darkness moved upon the face of the waters. It is worth a supreme effort…to control the hideous drift of events and arrest calamity on the threshold. Stop it! Stop it!! Stop it!!! NOW is the appointed time.”

- The Lord is patient, not slow

- His Day is coming, but not openly

- Meanwhile, His people must live godly lives
