Your mentality:

Nothing controls your life as much as your perception of reality (i.e. your mentality).
They could celebrate what God had done for them in their past,
but couldn’t believe He could work through them in the present.

The mentality they developed as slaves in Egypt blinded them and distorted reality. It colored their perceptions so they couldn’t believe.

“Vision” Hebrew - “chazon” from root “chaza” - “to split or divide”
Vision: The perception given you as God splits or divides the surface circumstances and allows you to peer beyond them into God’s plans and purposes.
The right mindset allows us to receive God’s vision and work to bring it to pass.
But a wrong mindset makes us draw back in fear and unbelief.

Receiving vision begins by giving close attention to our hearts.

Throughout history wherever the church has had vision and faith like-- Joshua and Caleb and the second generation --it has expanded and prevailed.
Fear and defeatism is the mark of a slave mentality.
The boldness of Caleb and Joshua is the mark of a son or a daughter.
