Dig Deeper:

1. There are several reasons why we might be hesitant to share our faith with others (afraid, don’t feel qualified, don’t want to be pushy, complacency). Have you ever felt hesitant to share your faith?
If so, was one of those reasons behind it? Explain.
2. Do you ever feel like it is someone else’s job to share about Jesus? If so, why?
3. When you think about the darkness of the world, and those who are still in darkness, how does it make you feel? What first comes to mind when you think of someone who doesn’t know Jesus?
4. How is our daily living (how we act throughout our days) just as important as the words we use to lead people to Christ?
5. Read Matthew 5:13-16. What are some specific behaviors that you
feel demonstrate the lifestyle of a salty, shining follower of Christ? How can we both “show and tell” by being “salt and light”?
6. Describe a time when the salt and light of another believer impacted you. What did that experience teach you about the importance of being salt and light?
7. Read 1 Peter 3:15. Sharing your salvation story is done in three simple steps: your life before Christ, how you began your relationship with Christ, and what your life has been like since. It can literally be three sentences! If you have never put this into words, practice with your small group or a friend so that you can begin to share your story with others.
8. In addition to telling your story, have you ever explained the Gospel to someone else? If you haven’t, practice now by using the tool on page 21 of the We Are TBC booklet.
9. Scripture tells us to share the Gospel in Jerusalem (the home where we live), Judea (our community), Samaria (a different culture), and the ends of the earth (global missions). Are you actively engaging missionally in all of these areas? If not, what can you do (pray, give, go) to ensure that ALL people can find and follow Jesus?
10. Our mission is to help people find and follow Jesus Christ, here and around the world. In light of your gifts, abilities, and interests, what are some specific ways that you feel God is calling you to use them to advance the mission?
11. What can we do to continue having passion and excitement in sharing Christ with others? What distracts us from the amazing opportunity we have each day to live out the mission that God has given us?
12. Read Acts 1:8. Knowing that the Holy Spirit that lives within all followers of Christ provides the power for us to share the Good News, what can you begin doing today to share Jesus with others more consistently?
13. Who is your One? Who has God placed in your life right now that doesn’t know Jesus but is actively watching you and how you live? What might be the next step in that connection or relationship?
