Welcome to Sunday morning at GracePoint! Our goal as a church is to connect real people with the real God, and we firmly believe one of the best ways to do this is to study God’s Word. In this sermon we focus on the long stretch of time between the first and second comings of Jesus Christ and ask, “Why has it been so long since Jesus promised to return to earth?” God bless you and may the meditations of your heart be pleasing in His sight (Psalm 19:4)!

Main Idea: The Lord Jesus will return when the time is right.
Outline: We are going to answer two questions many believers have about Christ’s return.
Question 1: How do we know for sure that Jesus will return?
1. The Promise: The Lord’s Word says that He will return (vv. 1-2)
2. The Precedent: The Lord has intervened at the planetary level before (vv. 3-7)
Question 2: Then why have we been waiting so long?
1. The Lord is Eternal (8)
2. The Lord is Patient (9a)
3. The Lord is Merciful (9b)
4. The Lord is Holy (10)
