Introduction: There are three books that I recommend to new Christians.

a. I often tell new believers they need to start with the book of John.

b. Once they complete the book of John the next book that I recommend is the book of Ephesians.

c. And finally, after they finish a Ephesians, I tell them that they need to go to the book of Galatians.

d. Paul wrote to the Galatians during his third missionary trip because they had begun to believe that the Jewish laws were necessary for Gentiles to be saved.

e. He was worried that this was making people confused and burdening the Gentiles unnecessarily.

f. In his writings, he emphasized the spiritual "yoke" or bondage of the Law of Moses as well as release from sin through faith in Jesus.
Galatians has been called the “Declaration of Independence of Christian liberty.”
Chapters 1 and 2: defending his apostleship
a. Paul warns of false teachers and reiterates his call as a true apostle.
b. He again relates his spiritual experience and his life before his conversion
c. Relies on support of Peter and the other apostles.
Chapters 3 through 5: Freedom Is in Christ, Not The Law
a. Paul teaches the collations to look at their behavior and see the hypocrisy in trying to make the gentiles act like Jews.
b. He compares the fruit of the spirit and the deeds of the flesh.
Chapter 6: Encouragement to Love, Not Legalized
a. Paul encourages the church members to bear each other’s burdens and to do good to all men
He rejects the idea of circumcisions and teaches that all are one in Christ

Online Giving

TITHE & OFFERING 2 Corinthians 9:7 KJV Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
God's people have always been characterized by giving, but the way they've given has changed over time.
Giving is an important aspect of the Christian life. After all, Luke records that Jesus himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35).
At Northside, we want to encourage all members to pray about giving and give as God leads them.
