PRELUDE | Sonnie Clifton - Organ
“Cleansing Fountain”
Gilbert M. Martin
CALL TO WORSHIP | Pastor Bonnie, Brenda Stevenson

L: Now fear the LORD and serve Him with all faithfulness. But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.
C: Far be it from us to forsake the LORD to serve other gods! We too will serve the LORD, because He is our God.
L: You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the LORD. Now then, throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel.
C: We will serve only the LORD our God and obey Him.
L: Let us join together now in praise and worship of God and serve only Him.

HYMN
"I Love to Tell the Story" #156

1. I love to tell the story
Of unseen things above
Of Jesus and his glory
Of Jesus and his love
I love to tell the story
Because I know 'tis true
It satisfies my longings
As nothing else can do

Refrain:
I love to tell the story
'Twill be my theme in glory
To tell the old old story
Of Jesus and his love

2. I love to tell the story
More wonderful it seems
Than all the golden fancies
Of all our golden dreams
I love to tell the story
It did so much for me
And that is just the reason
I tell it now to thee
[Refrain]

3. I love to tell the story
'Tis pleasant to repeat
What seems each time I tell it
More wonderfully sweet
I love to tell the story
For some have never heard
The message of salvation
From God's own holy Word
[Refrain]

4. I love to tell the story
For those who know it best
Seem hungering and thirsting
To hear it like the rest
And when, in scenes of glory
I sing the new new song
'Twill be the old, old story
That I have loved so long
[Refrain]
UNISON PRAYER | Pastor Bonnie, Christian Mallas

O God, we are so grateful for Your abiding love. We pray that we may embody a spirit of love, self-discipline, and service grounded in the power of Your grace. We are taught in so many ways – some subtle ways, some blatant ways – to fulfill all of our wants by consuming things. Remind us during this moment that we are called to invest in You by serving You. We join Christians around the world today who proclaim Jesus Christ as Savior. May we draw strength from this unity and from this act of sacrificial giving and service. In the name of one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who offers grace, mercy, and peace, we pray. Amen.
HYMN (8:30)
"He Lives" #310

1. I serve a risen Savior
He's in the world today
I know that He is living
Whatever foes may say
I see His hand of mercy
I hear His voice of cheer
And just the time I need Him
He's always near

Refrain:
He lives He lives
Christ Jesus lives today
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life's narrow way
He lives He lives
Salvation to impart
You ask me how I know He lives
He lives within my heart

2. In all the world around me
I see His loving care
And though my heart grows weary
I never will despair
I know that He is leading
Through all the stormy blast
The day of His appearing
Will come at last
(Refrain)

3. Rejoice rejoice O Christian
Lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs
To Jesus Christ the King
The Hope of all who seek Him
The Help of all who find
None other is so loving
So good and kind
(Refrain)

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE | Pastor Bonnie, Christian Mallas

Breakthrough Prayer: Word of God, blowing among the crowds at Pentecost, sweeping across generations to claim us, may we be born anew by Your Holy Spirit. Speak to us amid our earthly journey so we may live, not for ourselves, but for the whole human family in Huber Heights. Send us as messengers of Good News and bearers of Your peace.

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

MESSAGE | Pastor Barry
"Waiting to Be Asked"
RESPONSE
"Here I Am, Lord" #593

1. I the Lord of sea and sky
I have heard my people cry
All who dwell in dark and sin
My hand will save
I who made the stars of night
I will make their darkness bright
Who will bear my light to them
Whom shall I send

Refrain:
Here I am Lord
Is it I Lord
I have heard you calling in the night
I will go Lord
If you lead me
I will hold your people in my heart

2. I the Lord of snow and rain
I have borne my people's pain
I have wept for love of them
They turn away
I will break their hearts of stone
Give them hearts for love alone
I will speak my words to them
Whom shall I send
(Refrain)

3. I the Lord of wind and flame
I will tend the poor and lame
I will set a feast for them
My hand will save
Finest bread I will provide
'Til their hearts be satisfied
I will give my life to them
Whom shall I send
(Refrain)
