Bandage Rolling
Friday, September 30 | 12pm | On the last Friday of each month, our church rolls old sheets into bandages for our underfunded Nazarene hospital in Papua New Guinea. All ages are welcome and there are jobs for every skill level.

Young Adult Dinner
Sunday, October 2 | 11:15am | If you look up what age a "young adult" is on the internet, you get a variety of answers. So, if you are 18-24, 19-39, 15-29,13-24, or any variation of, we invite you and your similarly aged friends to stay for lunch next week.

Revival
October 9-12 | 6:30pm | In our journey of faith sometimes it’s helpful to intentionally block out a little extra time to go a bit deeper and listen to God even more closely. We have invited preacher Billy Huddleston to lead us in a time of revival next month. We invite you to join in. At the same time, we invite our teens to join Pastor Marcus and friends for a teen revival. We invite our kids to join Pastor Amy for programming each and every night. We also our invite our parents to drop off their babies in the nursery for the entire time of revival. Let us come together in a unified spirit as the Body of Christ.

Student Ministries Revival
October 9-12 | 6:30pm | During the week of our main revival, our student ministries will be having one of their own. McCartha McKenzie will be joining us from Chicago to speak the Word. Our high schoolers will have a hangout on Sunday night after the revival and our middle-schoolers will have their own afterward on Wednesday.

Fall Fest
Saturday, October 22 | 3-5pm | We’re hosting a Trunk or Treat for Manteno on October 22. We need candy! Trunk hosts! Volunteers! More candy!
https://bit.ly/3SpUUMr is the link to sign up and volunteer for the actual event. Our goal for candy is 10,000 pieces for an expected 500 kids. So, we need more candy. Drop it off in the lobby. #morecandy We also would like to borrow about 10 canopies/shade tents for the day. #morecandy

Student Ministries Butter Bread Fundraiser
Now-October 22 | Our youths are once again selling delicious butter-braid pastries. Buy them now, unfreeze them and bake them for the holidays. Impress the in-laws. Or have a truly decadent random Tuesday morning. Proceeds go to student accounts to pay for things like retreats, camps, and Nazarene Youth Conference.

Ladies Fall Retreat
Saturday, November 5 | 9am-12pm | Save the date. Our speaker will be Rev. Terra Gorrell. More details are forthcoming.

Whom Shall I Fear God Of Angel Armies

Verse 1
You hear me when I call
You are my morning song
Though darkness fills the night
It cannot hide the light
Whom shall I fear
You crush the enemy underneath my feet
You are my sword and shield
Though troubles linger still
Whom shall I fear

Chorus
I know Who goes before me
I know Who stands behind
The God of angel armies is always by my side
The One who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies is always by my side

Verse 2
My strength is in Your name
For You alone can save
You will deliver me
Yours is the victory
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
(Whom shall I fear)

Bridge
(And) nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I'm holding on to Your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful

How Deep The Father's Love For Us

Verse 1
How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Verse 2
Behold the Man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

Verse 3
I will not boast in anything
No gifts no pow’r no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Sermon Notes

True You: Given
John 6:5-13
October 2, 2022

I want to make a difference.

A small decision can have big returns.

JOHN 6:5-13
When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.
Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!”
Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”
Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.
When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.

Jesus knows we can make a difference.

I want to make a difference,
but I can’t afford to make a difference.

I want to make a difference,
but the need is too great to make a difference.

I want to make a difference,
but it’s impossible to make a difference.

Jesus knows we can make a difference
when we let him use us.

“Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone.”
–Andy Stanley

What will I do with what I have been given?

When we invest our lives with God, the interest will overwhelm us!

Jireh

Verse 1
I'll never be more loved than I am right now
Wasn't holding You up
So there's nothing I can do to let You down
It doesn't take a trophy to make You proud
I'll never be more loved than I am right now

Verse 2
Going through a storm but I won't go down
I hear Your voice carried in the rhythm of the wind
To call me out
You would cross an ocean so I wouldn't drown
You've never been closer than You are right now

Chorus
Jireh You are enough
Jireh You are enough
I will be content in every circumstance
Jireh You are enough

Tag
Forever enough
Always enough
More than enough

Verse 3
I don't wanna forget how I feel right now
On the mountaintop
I can see so clear what it's all about
Stay by my side when the sun goes down
Don't wanna forget how I feel right now

Bridge
I'm already loved
I'm already chosen
I know who I am
I know what You've spoken
I'm already loved
More than I could imagine
And that is enough

Tag
That is enough

Vamp
That is enough (7x)

You are enough (5x)

So I am enough
You are enough
So I am enough

Bridge
If He dresses the lilies with beauty and splendor
How much more will He clothe you
How much more will He clothe you
If He watches over every sparrow
How much more does He love you
How much more does He love you

Tag
How much more does He love you

Bridge
More than you ask think or imagine
According to His power working in us
It's more than enough

Tag
It's more than enough
