MONDAY: Compassion
Reading: Luke 5:27-32
Prayer: Lord, thank You for modeling love as You ate with those who the religious wouldn't dare. Your radical love and passion for people was unmatched. Help me to have that same heart that embraces the broken, hurting, and lost.

TUESDAY: Compassion
Reading: Luke 7:36-50
Prayer: Dear Lord, it is so easy sometimes to make comparisons with others. Forgive me for seeking to justify my own life and help me to be reminded of the incredible forgiveness I've received. You have abundantly and graciously covered my sins. I love You, Jesus!

WEDNESDAY: Compassion
Reading: Luke 11:37-54
Prayer: Lord, forgive me for times I've been more concerned with appearances. Even when You sat with religious leaders, Your heart was to see them repentant and restored. Help me to avoid an appearance of spirituality, and truly prepare my heart daily to be at Your table. Help me to welcome others to the table as You long to be near.

THURSDAY: Compassion
Reading: Luke 14:1-14
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for the way You teach us—even around the table, You spoke spiritual truths that help us understand Your heart. Keep me from legalistic righteousness and help me to remain humble. Help me to be willing to invite people to my table those whom the world has rejected. Let my motives and my heart remain pure and open as You lead.

FRIDAY: Compassion
Reading: Luke 14:15-24
Prayer: Lord, please forgive me for times I've taken You and Your grace for granted. Thank You for inviting me to Your table. Forgive me when I've put other priorities in front of You. May my table always be open and available for You and any that I'm supposed to invite.

SATURDAY: Compassion
Reading: Luke 22:14-27
Prayer: Lord, I'm amazed at how You always put others ahead of Yourself when You were here on Earth. This meal around the table may have become familiar and common, but there was nothing common about it. What You modeled and gave us was profoundly transformational and truly, redefined what communion is. Help me to serve, to invite, to love, and to lead like You did.
