Should a Christian ever feel shame?
Shame is a painful feeling of humiliation or distress usually caused by foolish behavior, exclusion, or abuse.
A Christian should feel shame if they have done something to dishonor Jesus as a pathway to repentance.
What do we do with our shame?
Jesus cleanses us and takes away our shame.
Jesus forgives us and takes away our shame.
1) Jesus cleanses a leper (vv.12-13)
2) Jesus gives instruction and explanation (vv.14-16)
3) Jesus forgives sins (vv.17-20)
4) Jesus heals a paralytic (vv.21-26)

1) Jesus cleanses a leper.
There came a man full of leprosy.
And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him.
“Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.”
Jesus will draw near to you in your shame.
“Jesus did not contract uncleanness but communicated cleansing.”

2) Jesus gives instruction and explanation.
3) Jesus forgives sins.
He said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
If you take your sins to Jesus, He will forgive you and take away your shame.
4) Jesus heals a paralytic.
Jesus has the authority to declare your sins are forgiven.
What do we do with our shame?
Let Jesus take away your shame.
Feed your shame the truths of the Gospel.
