Being a Christian does not mean that we escape reality - The Christian life is about facing reality while remaining anchored in trusting God's presence and faithfulness in our reality.

Thesis statement:
In our brokenness and in a broken world Lamentations validates the honest expression of grief, pain, and lament before God.

We can accurately accept that "Tears are the physical body's response to the pain of the soul".

Not only do we see the flowing of tears through the book of Lamentations, but we also see the vulnerable words of the writer who represented God's people.

We give words to our pain and sorry through prayer (conversation with God).

We also give words to our pain and sorry through conversations with other caring people in our community.
