"Becoming The Rabbi" - Hutt Hutson

It’s that time of year again. School is starting back up for a new year and with it new opportunities. With the whole year in front of you, it’s easy to feel anxious and maybe even overwhelmed. And one of the most stressful things has to be trying out or auditioning. What if I don’t make it? What if they don’t choose me? These questions follow us around, bouncing around our heads, filling us with a fear of rejection. Do you ever wonder… was life the same for the people in the New Testament? What was it like growing up in Galilee for Jesus and his disciples?

Jesus, the Rabbi (Luke 5:1-11, 27-39)

1 John 2:3-6
3 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4 The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

Jesus calls you as he called the first disciples. You are invited to follow him. To become like him. There’s no try out, no pre-requisites. You have what it takes because a life walking with Jesus is the life the Father created you for. He is worth it and through the sacrifice of his Son we know what we are worth to him. Yes, you! He chooses you.
