If cosmic justice is God’s business, then it is whatever he decides it is. It is not a principle to which he himself is subject, to which he gives his allegiance. It is not a rule, the knowledge of which is shared by Yahweh and humans. It is yet another sphere of divine might, another instance of the truth that Yahweh can “do anything,” as Job began this speech by acknowledging. —David Clines
