“It Took A Miracle”
– John W. Peterson, arr. by Harold DeCou
CALL TO WORSHIP | Pastor Bonnie, Jean Mahan

L: 11 Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. 12 Which of you desires life and covets many days to enjoy good?
C: 13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.
L: 14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
C: 15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.
L: Let us join together to once again proclaim our rejection of evil and commit to doing good in God’s name as we offer our praise and worship to God.

(Adapted from selected verses of Psalm 34: 11-15)
HYMN
"I Stand Amazed in the Presence" #378

1. I stand amazed in the presence
of Jesus the Nazarene,
and wonder how he could love me,
a sinner, condemned, unclean.

Refrain:
How marvelous! How wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
How marvelous! How wonderful
is my Savior's love for me!

2. For me it was in the garden
he prayed: "Not my will, but thine."
He had no tears for his own griefs,
but sweat-drops of blood for mine.
(Refrain)

3. In pity angels beheld him,
and came from the world of light
to comfort him in the sorrows
he bore for my soul that night.
(Refrain)

4. He took my sins and my sorrows,
he made them his very own;
he bore the burden to Calvary,
and suffered and died alone.
(Refrain)

5. When with the ransomed in glory
his face I at last shall see,
'twill be my joy through the ages
to sing of his love for me.
(Refrain)
UNISON PRAYER | Pastor Bonnie

God of all that is good and just,

You know the deepest desire of our hearts is to do good and seek justice in Your eyes. Yet we are frail beings tainted by a sinful nature that is always calling us away from You and Your righteousness. Help us, we pray, to daily turn away from evil and do what is good and just according to Your will. By the power of Your Holy Spirit enable us to do good and seek justice that Your name may be glorified.

We humbly ask that You bless us with Your holy presence that we may hear Your word as we offer You our praise, worship, and thanksgiving. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
HYMN (8:30)
“Jesus is All the World to Me" #469

1. Jesus is all the world to me,
my life, my joy, my all;
he is my strength from day to day,
without him I would fall.
When I am sad, to him I go,
no other one can cheer me so;
when I am sad, he makes me glad,
he's my friend.

2. Jesus is all the world to me,
my friend in trials sore;
I go to him for blessings, and
he gives them o'er and o'er.
He sends the sunshine and the rain,
he sends the harvest's golden grain;
sunshine and rain, harvest of grain,
he's my friend.

3. Jesus is all the world to me,
and true to him I'll be;
O how could I this friend deny,
when he's so true to me?
Following him I know I'm right,
he watches o'er me day and night;
following him by day and night,
he's my friend.

4. Jesus is all the world to me,
I want no better friend;
I trust him now, I'll trust him when
life's fleeting days shall end.
Beautiful life with such a friend,
beautiful life that has no end;
eternal life, eternal joy,
he's my friend.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE | Pastor Bonnie

Breakthrough Prayer: Word of God, blowing among the crowds at Pentecost, sweeping across generations to claim us, may we be born anew by Your Holy Spirit. Speak to us amid our earthly journey so we may live, not for ourselves, but for the whole human family in Huber Heights. Send us as messengers of Good News and bearers of Your peace.

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

RESPONSE
Have Thine Own Way, Lord #382

1. Have thine own way, Lord!
Have thine own way!
Thou art the potter;
I am the clay.
Mold me and make me
after thy will,
while I am waiting,
yielded and still.

2. Have thine own way, Lord!
Have thine own way!
Search me and try me,
Savior today!
Wash me just now, Lord,
wash me just now,
as in thy presence
humbly I bow.

3. Have thine own way, Lord!
Have thine own way!
Wounded and weary,
help me I pray!
Power, all power,
surely is thine!
Touch me and heal me,
Savior divine!

4. Have thine own way, Lord!
Have thine own way!
Hold o'er my being
absolute sway.
Fill with thy Spirit
till all shall see
Christ only, always,
living in me!
