ECC-Evangelical Covenant Church
Wonder and Awe: Intentionality
This fall, ECC is launching LifeGroups as a key component in our spiritual growth and in our life together as sisters and brothers in Christ. We will be looking at Acts 2.42-47 and other passages as we explore the nature of transformation at the intersection of intentionality, connection, and community. Join us! We worship together each Sunday morning at 10:30am on YouTube, on our Worship page (ecclife.net/worship), or in person.

Plus, in the past, we have been given pictures of children whom we chose. This time, however, the children of the Congo will choose us! We invite you to partner with World Vision to support comprehensive and sustainable development that is already leading to holistic transformation for children and their families in the Congo.

Wonder & Awe: Intentionality
August 7, 2022
Ninth Sunday after Pentecost
Pastor Stacey Littlefield
Write your main take away from this week's sermon below:
A question to ponder.
Have you had any experience with church-based small groups in the past? If so, consider your experience. What was good? What was challenging?

If you have never been in a church small group, can you think of a time you shared life with others? A group of close friends? Your extended family? What made those relationships special? What sustained them?
A question to ponder.
One of the things ECC staff have learned in our coaching and consulting relationship with Spiritual Leadership, Inc. (SLI) is the need to move from intuitive to intentional... That is, the need to move from simply intuitively leading or doing ministry to being more intentional about making sure certain things happen and happen well.

Where, in your experience, has the move from intuitive to intentional been key for family or work or school? Where might God be inviting you to move from intuitive to intentional in your own path to Christoformity?
Question to ponder.
Spend some time considering each of the qualities the Apostle Paul lists for us in 2 Peter 1.5. What is your experience with each of them? How do you define each of them? Which one, if any, is God drawing attention to in your own life?

2 Peter 1.5-7
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.

Prayer for the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost
Let your continual mercy, O Lord, cleanse and defend your Church; and, because it cannot continue in safety without your help, protect and govern it always by your goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
