Online Giving - Text to Give

The word “tithe” literally means tenth or 10%. Tithing, or giving ten percent of your income, isn’t merely giving something to God. It’s giving back what was his to begin with. All that we have, or hope to have, comes from him. The Bible says that tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything. It teaches us to always put God first in our lives. BOOK CLUB - SADIE ROBERTSON HUFF
DOES GOD REALLY KEEP HIS PROMISES?

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” 5Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple 6and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” 7Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” 8Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” 10Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” 11Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.Matthew 4:1-11 ESV

Why Don’t We Believe God Is a Promise Keeper?
1. We don’t know the promises of God.
Our expectations of God are not always the promises of God.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 ESV
… Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 ESV

Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! …” 11Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.
Matthew 4:10-11 ESV

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4 ESV

2. We have an enemy who knows and manipulates the promises of God.
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” 2And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. 7Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.Genesis 3:1-7 ESV

3. We settle for empty promises instead.
All these people didn’t receive what was promised …
Hebrews 11:39 CEB

… God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:16 NIV

… God had planned something better …Hebrews 11:40 NIV

The enemy promises things that he does not have authority to give.

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands. 16They have mouths, but do not speak; they have eyes, but do not see; 17they have ears, but do not hear, nor is there any breath in their mouths. 18Those who make them become like them, so do all who trust in them. Psalm 135:15-18 ESV

Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
Romans 6:16 ESV

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 ESV
… He will guide us forever.Psalm 48:14 ESV
“… I am with you ...” Genesis 28:15 ESV
“… I am the one who helps you.”Isaiah 41:13 ESV

You’ve got to know the Word.
… whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season … Psalm 1:2-3 NIV
