The premise many of us live by is that we should make our requests “known” to God. The problem with doing this at face value is that it implies that God needs to know what we want!

Requests - a thing asked for, petition. This word is used twice in the N.T.

The problem is actually more complicated that just asking, it involves “according to His will.”

- We should know that prayer (including our requests) is done in secret.
- We should know that is not about the abundance of your words.
- We should know that God is listening for things that represent His revealed will and is willing to talk with you about it.

What God knows and what we need to know.

- We should know His Kingdom is coming and is His Will.
- We should know His Will is being done.
- We should know His Kingdom and Will was designed for earth.
- We should know His Will is daily bread.
- We should know His Will is to forgive our sin.
- We should know His Will is to teach us outside of the world’s temptation.
- We should know His Will is to deliver us from the evil one.
