The New Season | Psalm 40:1-3

A. In the Waiting, David Waited.

Psalms 40:1

1. When we get impatient, our new might be the wrong new.

2. When we are patient, the new will be the right new.

3. When we acknowledge God, He wants us to cry out.

Psalms 34:17

B. In the Pit, David Trusted.

Psalms 40:2

1. The pit is a place of imprisonment.

2. The pit is where Jesus went for us.

Philippians 2:5-8

3. The pit is left behind as Jesus fixes our steps.
“…And establishes my steps.” Psalm 40:2c (NKJV)

C. In the New, David Magnified.

Psalms 40:3

1. When we magnify God, He is seen with a different view.

2. Many will see and be changed by the magnified God, but some will see and still ignore the magnified God.

3. All Divine graces to individuals are intended also for a social influence.

D. How can God be magnified in my new season?

1. Eliminate negativity from your life.

Philippians 4:8

2. Pour into someone's life.

3. Pray for something new.

“Too often we use petty little petitions, oratorical exercises, or the words of others rather than the cries of our inmost being. When you pray, pray!” —Billy Graham

4. Find a newness to your relationship with God.

Bottom Line: The goal in the new is to show God in a different view.
