Pastor Tom Roepke joined co-host Mark Zimmerman for Wednesday Morning Bible Study on Heartfelt Radio’s Mornings with Mark and Gabe. (Gabe unfortunately was out sick…but we leaned in! )
We looked at the story of Elisha and the bears from 2 Kings 2 and the story of Isaiah preaching naked from Isaiah 20.
We also talked about the wonder and theology that is encountered looking at the amazing images from the NASA’s Webb Telescope.

A Strategy to Reach Your Friends!
27 Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?” 28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” 30 They came out of the town and made their way toward him.31 Meanwhile his disciples urged him, “Rabbi, eat something.”32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”33 Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?” 34 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. 35 Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. John 4:27-35 (NIV)
Jesus invited this Samaritan woman into a relationship with him which began a ripple effect.
Three word strategy:

Invitation Strategy:
1. JESUS PRAYED Not just “praying” -- Jesus prayed all the time!
15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Luke 5:15-16
Why did Jesus pray so much?
Fully God but fully human too -- needed to plug into father
Because private prayer time produces power in public.
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
Acts 4:31
The more time we spend in prayer…
The more time we get close to God...
The more time we listen to the Holy Spirit…
The bolder we become-you can’t help but tell somebody who Jesus is.
It is hard to witness without the Holy Spirit giving us boldness
Praying SPECIFIC:
-ASK GOD TO GIVE YOU BOLDNESS TO WITNESS.
-PRAY TO GOD SPECIFICALLY FOR THE 5 PEOPLE YOU HAVE LISTED.
2. JESUS INVITED
13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14
8 out of 10 people are waiting for an invitation!
BELONG BEFORE YOU BELIEVE
3.THE SAMARITAN WOMAN BROUGHT
28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” John 4:28 -29
Don’t just invite someone to church but BE A BRINGER!
Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” John 4:39
Because what Jesus said…
32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”33 Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?”34 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. John 4:32-34
….is just as relevant today!
John 4:35 -- …open your eyes and see the fields are ripe for harvest!
