North Platte Berean Church
Death Benefits
Christianity has a long history of being misunderstood, even by Christians! It's all too easy to make it about Jesus PLUS something (good works, moral living, religious activities, emotional experience…). But the book of Hebrews claims that when we add anything to Jesus, we're actually subtracting. It holds up Jesus Christ – fully God, fully human – as the promised Deliverer. He is the One who, alone, saves us from our sinfulness and restores our relationships with God, others, and creation. Its message, the message of Christianity, is really quite simple: Jesus Christ is enough!

Next Week's Sermon
Jesus' once for all time sacrifice of himself on the cross has secured our inheritance and accomplished our purification. Now while we eagerly await his return he is in the process of sanctifying us. But what is this sanctification? How should we understand it? Do we do it? Is it done to us? Intriguingly, it is referred to as ongoing and also somehow simultaneously already completed! A marvelously encouraging concept, we'll explore the details of our sanctification next week.
