Casa of Hope is a local, anti-human trafficking agency dedicated to providing safe housing to sexually exploited women, educating communities, outreach, and bringing awareness in an effort to combat modern-day slavery of men, women, youth, and children.<br><br>They are hosting a BBQ fundraiser with the help of Cool Hand Luke’s and have asked if we could help sell some of their tickets. The BBQ can be picked up at CHL’S drive-thru style on August 27th and are $15 a ticket.<br><br>Tickets are sold as cash only and can be picked up at the Welcome Center.

Week Eight: Government
Romans 13 leaves many Christians scratching their heads with questions. In Romans 13:1-7 we are told that there is no Authority appointed apart from GOD, that anyone who resists God’s appointed authority’s, resists GOD, and to be subject to those in authority because that pleases God. In submitting to that authority, we pay taxes, honor, and respect as if we are paying it to God Himself. The two overarching themes in Romans 13 are:
1. The only legitimate authority is God.
2. Human authority is only legitimate when appointed by God.
What authority figures has God placed over you?
What is your relationship like with them?
Do you have a “righteous frustration” with our government?
Who should you be praying for even now?
How does the Gospel of the Kingdom differ from worldly expectations of government?
How does God’s sovereignty reframe our frustrations with our government?
How can God use our current government to open avenues for the Gospel to be proclaimed?
