It can take 10,000 repetitions to master a skill and develop the associated neuro pathway
It can take up to the age of 25 for the brain to fully develop.
Frontal Lobe - affects cognitive processes and executive functioning such as planning, response inhibition, working memory, attention, and emotional maturity.
In a way, the brain of an adolescent can be described as such: a car with an incredible engine and an unskilled driver in the front seat.
With all of these frustrations on both sides, and the science of how the brain works, how can we as parents, teachers, and even perhaps adolescents ourselves, help to direct these teachable moments?
